Polymarket hired former Zora CEO Jacob Horne to work on its decentralized finance product as the prediction-market operator looks to improve its onchain user experience.

Founder Shayne Coplan announced the appointment on Sept. 17 and said Horne would work closely with him on product development.

Horne co-founded Zora and spent more than six years building blockchain-based consumer products. His background gives Polymarket a product executive with experience designing applications around wallets, tokens and onchain markets.

Polymarket’s international product uses tokenized shares representing possible outcomes of future events. YES and NO outcome pairs are fully collateralized in USDC, while a central limit order book handles trading and price discovery.

Its U.S. business operates through a separate regulated framework tied to QCEX and CFTC filings.

Coplan acknowledged concerns from crypto-native users who believed the international onchain experience had received less attention while the company expanded in the U.S. He also said Polymarket planned a DeFi town hall with longtime users.

No new DeFi feature or rollout date accompanied the appointment, making the hire a product leadership move rather than a completed technical launch.
