  • Monad crypto faces a 16.6 billion MON token unlock on Nov. 24.
  • The release exceeds MON’s current 11.83 billion circulating supply.
  • MON traded near $0.028 as traders approached the first major vesting event.

Monad crypto is approaching its first major token unlock, with roughly 16.6 billion MON scheduled to vest on Nov. 24, 2026.

The event falls exactly one year after Monad launched its public mainnet and token on Nov. 24, 2025. Tokenomics.com lists 16.609 billion MON for release, equal to approximately 16.6% of Monad’s initial 100 billion-token supply.

That amount exceeds the roughly 11.825 billion MON currently circulating. However, vesting does not mean every released token immediately reaches exchanges or becomes part of actively traded supply.

MON traded near $0.028 on Sept. 27, giving the token a circulating market capitalization of roughly $334 million at that snapshot. The coming unlock therefore stands out because of its size relative to the token’s existing market float.

Monad Crypto Faces 16.6B MON Unlock

Monad crypto will reach the first anniversary of its token generation event on Nov. 24. That date ends the initial lockup period covering team, investor and treasury allocations.

Tokenomics.com lists 16.61 billion MON for the upcoming release. The platform said the figure represented about 16.6% of the initial token supply. Its data was verified with the Monad team.

The release primarily covers insiders. Tokenomics.com attributed about 64.4% of the event to insiders and 29.6% to private investors. The remaining 6% belongs to the foundation.

DeFiLlama records a slightly larger 16.82 billion MON cliff on the same date. Its breakdown includes 10.7 billion MON for the team, 5.335 billion for investors and 1.07 billion for the Category Labs Treasury.

The difference reflects varying vesting datasets and classification methods. Both sources identify Nov. 24 as Monad’s first major post-launch unlock.

MON Unlock Exceeds Current Circulating Supply

The size of the release stands out against MON’s existing market float. CoinMarketCap reported a circulating supply of about 11.825 billion MON on Sept. 27. Its data placed MON’s market capitalization near $334 million.

Tokenomics.com also listed approximately 11.83 billion MON as circulating during September. Its 16.61 billion-token Nov. 24 release would therefore exceed the current circulating amount.

DeFiLlama estimated its 16.82 billion MON unlock at about 144.7% of the current float. It valued the scheduled cliff near $455 million using prices captured by its dashboard.

That does not mean circulating supply will automatically increase by the full amount immediately. Unlocking removes contractual transfer restrictions, while actual market circulation depends on how recipients use the tokens.

That distinction matters for MON price analysis. Team members, investors and treasury managers could hold, stake, transfer or sell their allocations after vesting restrictions expire.

Monad Crypto Tokenomics Put Team Allocation in Focus

Monad launched with an initial supply of 100 billion MON. Tokenomics.com allocated 26.99% to the team and 19.68% to private investors.

Another 38.54% went toward ecosystem development. The public sale received 7.5%, while the Category Labs Treasury received about 3.95%.

Team tokens follow a 12-month cliff followed by linear vesting. Investor and treasury allocations also begin releasing after the first-year lockup.

The November event therefore marks the beginning of a longer vesting cycle rather than a one-time release.

Tokenomics.com lists another scheduled release for Dec. 24. Additional monthly releases continue through November 2029.

The token supply can also expand through protocol issuance. Coinbase’s Monad disclosure said each successful block generates 25 MON for validators and stakers.

The disclosure estimated that mechanism at roughly 2 billion MON annually. Monad also burns the base component of transaction fees, partially offsetting issuance.

MON Price Trades Near $0.028 Before November Unlock

MON traded around $0.0283 on Sept. 27, according to CoinMarketCap. Daily trading volume stood near $30.4 million when the market tracker updated its figures.

The token remained well below the valuation implied by its full supply. CoinMarketCap placed circulating market capitalization around $334 million.

Tokenomist separately estimated Monad’s fully diluted valuation above $2.5 billion during September. The research platform also confirmed Nov. 24 as the next scheduled unlock date.

The gap between circulating market capitalization and fully diluted valuation places supply expansion at the center of the MON market outlook.

Large unlocks can increase the amount available for trading. However, price outcomes depend on recipient behavior, liquidity and broader crypto market conditions.

Monad crypto therefore approaches Nov. 24 with two competing factors. MON has recently gained alongside the broader market, while a much larger pool of tokens approaches its first vesting release.

The Nov. 24 event will provide the first major test of how Monad’s market absorbs insider and investor allocations after the initial one-year lockup.
